I am running for the office of City Council District 5 because I feel that I continue to have something to offer the community that I love so much. I have learned a lot over the course of the past four years on the City Council, and I am excited at the chance to continue serving.
My involvement with the City Council has never been a career move. My intent to be involved with the City Council is to serve the community that I love and to be part of the process to keep our city growing.
I have lived in the City of Taylorsville for as long as it has been a city, even before it was incorporated. I have loved this area, and I have received so much from my friends, neighbors, and the city that I feel drawn to give back to our wonderful city.
I have worked with the University of Utah for the past 19 years. I have learned more about the importance of transparency and compliance to regulations. My role is specifically in the area of budget and finance, and I take joy in working to ensure that we have everything being operated properly, keeping everything “above the table,” where all can see that every step is being followed in terms of regulations and care of the finances. I feel that it is critical that we work to live within our means.
1: Keep taxes low
2: Keep the city safe
3: Improve city infrastructure and services
4: Seek to streamline support for businesses and business owners
5: Ensure that Taylorsville is the best city for our upcoming generation. My two youngest children, pictured, represent the biggest reason to serve.
